DinnerSmith on Cablevision

DinnerSmith is now on Cablevision on a show called Neighborhood Journal with AL Clarke. It can only be seen in South Orange, Newark and Elizabeth this month and then goes to all of Cablevision in January as on demand. It is a great show and was really fun to do. There is a terrific cost comparison section that shows how economical using us for family dinners can be.

As an example, Applebees has a take out menu now and they offer a Salmon dinner with rice and veg for 13.99 FOR ONE PERSON. Our Asian Salmon with rice and veg for 4-6 is 22-27. Okay so there is really no comparison.

Already people are telling us they saw it! Someone said to me they thought it was very good and was telling all her friends about it ( I actually heard about it from one of her co-workers). Lynn Mahoney from the Magic Moms group was featured in the piece as a busy mom, working and raising three kids. A friend saw her waiting for her son after school and said " Hey, What;s for dinner?" Lynn was surprised, thought that it was an odd question, but her friend said she saw the show on Cablevision. They had a good laugh! BTW feel free to ask us "What's for dinner?"

We cannot post it on the web but are working on showing it in the store. Asl us about it when you come in.

This Busy Season

DinnerSmith meals can make such a difference! So many places to go and things to do this season. Yesterday I went with my family to the city to visit the Cathedral of St John to see it in all its renovated glory. Wow, the place is glowing! There was a free jazz concert after which they fired up the organ. It was awesome. We got a pastry and coffee at the Hungarian Pastry Shop, a bit of Europe on the Upper West Side. Natasha wanted to see the Union Square Holiday Market so we went downtown. So many very beautiful things! And then the snow started to fall very lightly. It was magical!

So what does that have to do with DinnerSmith. Well we had to get home before the storm possibly worsened. I knew that there was a DinnerSmith Tilapia with Red Beans and Rice waiting for us in the frig. Within twenty minutes of getting home, we were eating a great dinner and talking about the special day we shared. No stress no fast food. As kids get older, it seems there are more things to do with them during the season. I work on being very organized but meal planning, grocery shopping and kitchen cleaning take so much time. I want to spend the time, those extra minutes, standing in Union Square watching the snow fall and the smiles on my kids faces.

My wish for everyone this season is that DinnerSmith can help us all spend more time making memories.
